Arvo Jean-Michael Ärlig (FI)

Arvo Jean-Michael Ärlig (HE/HIM) originally hails from Tampere, but is currently Helsinki-based performing artist and choreographer. He is an actor (FIA), a contemporary dancer, a professional in Finnish folk music and most prominently works as a fight and dance choreographer in professional theatres and freelance field. He currently focuses his work on Finnish Action theatre which aims to promote and produce high-level action plays.

In stage combat Arvo, in addition to practical work, is focusing on doing artistic research in creating choreographical tools for stagefight inspired by various contemporary dance and physical theatre practices combining movement, acting and stagefight.

He graduated as a stagefight teacher under Oula kitti in 2026.
