CONFIRMED INSTRUCTORS
These are the confirmed instuctors for the Summer Workshop. Even if the overseas travel is more difficult, the guest teachers are from the United Kingdom. We are soon updating more information about every one them and about the classes they teach. More information of NSFS teachers can be found here.
This year the faculty was chosen to showcase the best and the brightest of the younger generation with some additions from some of the most experienced teachers. We took a special care to invite in teachers who have been actively working in the field with modern and safe methods. This time our guest teachers outside NSFS come from The Great Britain.

Oula Kitti (NSFS, Finland), Workshop Principal
Oula was the principal of Summer workshop previously in 2014 and 2015, and is a founding member of DCF. He is Finnish Actor, Stunt, Fight Director, and NSFS Stage Combat Instructor. He graduated as a Master of Arts in acting from Tampere University at 2004 and has since worked both as an actor and fight director in theaters all around Finland. He has taught stage combat and directed fights on stage since 2003. He is a an Honorary Fight Director at the Fight directors Canada. He was also a member of NSFS´s Research and Education board for years and NSFS representative at the Worlds comitee. Currently Oula works as an freelance stunt performer and fight director and as a resident stage combat instructor for the Helsinki Theater Academy.

Iiro Heikkilä (NSFS, Finland), Workshop Vice-Princial
Iiro Heikkilä is a chairperson and a teacher at Dramatic Combat Finland. BA of circus arts. MA of sport science. Truck driver, sport massage therapist and pyrotechnician. He is a performing artis with a dance and circus background who graduated from NSFS mentor program in 2019, and has been co-teaching with Oula for half a decade. He has been performing as a professional on stage and screen mainly in musicals and physical theater productions since 2004.

Johannes Eilertsen (NSFS, Norway)
Johannes Eilertsen is a stuntman, Circus performer, stage fight practitioner and teacher. Over the years he’s been working on several Movies and over 30 short films both as an actor, stuntman, choreographer and tech rigger. 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze from the World championship in artistic fencing. 1 gold and 1 silver from the international championship in Germany. He has been in over 50 different Plays on the stage as a Circus performer, ballet dancer, fighter and actor. Background from martial arts and Circus. On the side he works as a theatre technician and circus teacher.

Kristo Salminen (BASSC, Finland)
Kristo Salminen is an actor (MA) and a founding member of Dramatic Combat Finland. Kristo graduated from the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat, becoming a first BASSC certified teacher in Finland.

Hilde Östensson (NSFS, Sweden)
Hilde is a certified teacher with the Nordic Stage Fight Society where she also served as the chairperson. She is an honorary fight director with Fight Directors Canada. She has a BA in musicology from Copenhagen University. She is a trained physical actress from Acting and Collaborative Theatre in Sweden. She studied at the European Film College and has worked as a movie editor. She is a trained classical singer. Hilde was born into a theatre family and has basically been on stage all her life, performing, choreographing and directing. Currently Hilde and her husband Peppe offer further education in movement, acting, voice and dramatic combat for performers of all stripes.

Peppe Östensson (NSFS, Sweden)

Bo Thomas (NSFS, Denmark)
Professional Stuntman, stage fight performer, actor and choreographer for film, television, theater, shows and live reenactment, a part of a handful of international recognized fight directors in Scandinavia and a NSFS Stage Combat instructor. Bo is a board member of the Danish Film and Stagecombat Denmark. Started in 1985 and has been a part of the development stage fight & stunt profession in Scandinavia ever since. Certified teacher in stunt and stage fighting. Has worked on more than 300 productions since 1985. Also teaches actors and children in stunt and stage fight. Performs stunt and fight shows as well as historical weaponry demonstrations for schools, institutions and medieval museums in Scandinavia.

Dan styles (BADC, UK)
Dan choreographed his first fight in his GSCE drama practical performance exam in 1998. Dan continued his combat training in historical European martial arts (HEMA), boxing, kick boxing, fencing and archery and reached the highest grades in stage combat. He later went on to take a 2 year stage and screen combat teaching apprenticeship and is now a qualified accredited teacher for the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. His acting work provided many opportunities for action/fight roles and choreography work and slowly he moved more towards coordinating fights and action. In recent years Dan has been taking his training further into stunt skills and progressing towards the British stunt register and fight directors register.

Jurgen Wenzel (NSFS, Sweden)
Jürgen is a NSFS certified teacher. Creating drama for stage and screen is one of his passions in life.
He will be responsible of directing the Advanced Showcase during the second week.

Miro Lahtela (Elrohir Oy, EHMS, Finland)
Miro Lahtela is one of the leading HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) teachers in Finland, and is a specialist teacher during the advanced course.
He has done martial arts since childhood, ranging from the harmonical aspects of Aikido to the more concrete techniques of Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
He really found home with the Historical European Martial arts in 2015, which has since become his main passion in life. He is interested in every weapon system and style he can get his hands on. But he is most invested in medieval German longsword fencing, which he regularly teaches at an EHMS club in Helsinki. He is both a competitive martial artist and a history buff so he will try be trying to bring some new perspectives to stage combat in Summer Clash 2021!

Jarkko Mandelin (Kinetic Orchestra)
Jarkko Mandelin is Helsinki based movement teacher specialized on floorwork, partnering and dance theatre. Mandelin is mainly working as teacher and choreographer but do still occasionally drag himself on to stage if challenge and right people meet in a right mixture.
Kinetic Orchestra Masterclasses go through movement material and practice methods specific to the Kinetic Orchestra dance company. In general our movement language is wide-ranging and techniques and styles change on a quick pace. Overall, however, the focus is in partnering techniques, acrobatic floor technique and dynamic, blues-influenced contemporary dance.
