Weapon disciplines: Knife, Theatrical Martial Arts, Smallsword.
Description: A combatant on intermediate test two level is able to perform a choreography on an advanced level, giving a very clear and solid presentation to both audience and adjudicator(s), if need be in speed faster than regular performance speed (“film speed”). To take intermediate test two, you need a passed intermediate test one, and a minimum of 130 hours of training (or the equivalent of two summer workshops – one preparatory and one test course) in the relevant weapons, minimum 15 hours of training per test weapon.
Requirements: The combatant demonstrates independence and ability to ascertain and modify technique and acting when needed; demonstrates a large surplus of understanding of and control over technique, choreography, timing and use of space; demonstrates very good partner contact; demonstrates maturity in learning, training and performing; demonstrates an understanding of the appropriate styles for the different weapons; demonstrates consideration and generosity towards both partner and audience; can explain valid terminology for all weapons in the NSFS test system.
Examination: Examination is done through choreographed performance. The Knife and Theatrical Martial Arts fights must have a minimum of 60 moves each. One of the choreographies must be presented as a realistic scene, one is a given assignment. Examination choreographies must be taught by a certified teacher, and adjudicated by a minimum of two certified teachers. At intermediate test two level, students can be questioned about valid terminology and techniques for all weapons in the NSFS test system.
