Requirements: The combatant demonstrates understanding and control of movement, space, timing and the performance situation overall; demonstrates good partner contact; demonstrates maturity in learning, training and performing; demonstrates consideration for both partner and audience; demonstrates solid, consistent technique regarding both correct fighting technique and safety; demonstrates respect for the choreography; can explain valid terminology and techniques for all 3 weapons.

Examination: Examination is done through choreographed performance, one for each weapon. At least two of the choreographies must be presented as realistic scenes; one can be a comic scene. Each of the choreographies must have a minimum of 60 moves. Examination choreographies must be taught by a certified teacher, and adjudicated by a minimum of two certified teachers. Students can be questioned about valid terminology and techniques for all 3 weapons.
