The Executive Committee is elected by the NSFS and its national organisations at the general assembly and consists of a chairperson and 2-4 members from at least 2 different member countries. The Executive Committee runs the NSFS in accordance with the Articles of Association and the resolutions taken at the General Meetings.

The Executive Committee's main obligations are to develop the organisation and to promote safety and quality in stage fighting, raising the artistic level of interpretation, choreography and execution. To this end the Executive Committee sets out guidelines and have the final decision on all issues regarding the NSFS test system. The Executive Committee also secure event organisers for the annual NSFS summer workshop and is responsible for administrative work such as PR, bookkeeping and archives.

The Executive Committee may enter into the necessary financial commitments to run the NSFS and may set down permanent subcommittee (e.g. the Committee of Research and Education) and ad hoc subcommittees (e.g. subcommittees for the NSFS summer workshop) in order to advise the Executive Committee or deal with practical issues. The Executive Committee may also create a secretariat and appoint a secretary to serve the NSFS as a whole.
